The Measurement and Minimization of Print-Through of Magnetic Sound Recording Tape

Print-through of magnetic sound recording tape is a problem that does exist and is affected by the time of storage, temperature, time between record and playback, external magnetic fields, the magnetic properties of the oxide used in the coating, and many other factors. A description of the recording process of magnetic print-through, various methods of measurement and the minimization of the printed signal is discussed.
