An actual sheet recorder will not be described in this paper. Instead five different design areas which deviate from those of regular reel-to-reel machines will be covered. The five areas are: 1. Head Design, 2. Head Placement, 3. Mechanical Drive System, 4. Dropouts, 5. Equalization.
