A Two-Microphone Technique for the Measurement of Acoustic Waveguide Impedance

Document Thumbnail

The goals of this investigation are to demonstrate the viability of the two-microphone technique for measuring acoustic impedances, and to examine impedance measurements of acoustic waveguides of the oblate spheroidal design. An impedance tube using the two-microphone technique was constructed and tested. Impedance measurements were made on waveguides of oblate spheroidal design, and on acoustic horns of conventional design. Finally, the impedance measurements for the oblate spheroidal waveguide are compared to the predictions of the acoustic waveguide theory.
