Based on the latest achievements of technology, it is possible to combine all necessary test functions in a single, compact, multipurpose instrument. The main problem, which is to be solved before the design of the similar instrument could be performed is the proper selection of its test functions. The conception of the universal measuring system based on a personal computer has been presented. Problems concerning the proper selection of test functions and programming algorithms have been discussed.
