A professional use High Sampling digital audio tape recorder based on PD (Prodigi) format has been developed to handle recording up to 40kHz audio bandwidth. This recorder surpasses the audio bandwidth limit conventionally specified at 20kHz by using sophisticated digital audio technology, and meets various requirements of broader applications. This paper describes the tape format, signal processing, and performance of this recorder.
