New Factors in Sound for Cinema and Television

This paper reports on a number of experiments, the goal of which was to identify those special factors important to the reproduction of sound accompanying moving picture images, and to make improvements in the areas identified. Similarities and differences between reproduction in the cinema and reproduction in the home are reported.
