Optimizing Massive Parallel Architectures for Real-Time Digital Audio

Document Thumbnail

Large digital signal processing engines are required to meet the hard real-time constraints imposed by digital audio applications. Appropriate topologies and resource allocation strategies are necessary to efficiently utilise a sea of processors: Task scheduling is considered in the context of allocating complex console taskforces onto such hybrid multiprocessors. Novel scalable architectures are assessed and the impact of design decisions evaluated.
