Burst Error Concealment for Digital Audio Tape and Broadcast Application

Document Thumbnail

High error ratios during recording or transmission of digital audio signals call for proper methods of error concealment. This is even more important for digital audio with data reduction like transform-coding or subband-coding. The loss of several hundred audio samples can be concealed by cutting out part of the signal according to the pitch, as has been shown previously. It will be shown, how this method as been improved. One major drawback was that the method has not been applicable to RF transmission of digital audio. It will now be shown, how this drawback was overcome.
