Different sample frequencies are used in digital audio and conversions between unrelated and nominally-equal rates is required in broadcasting. The presented digital solution applies for arbitrary audio sample-rate conversion. The converter uses upsampling and digital low-pass filtering. Interpolation in continuous time yields the output samples. The interpolation coefficients are generated with an all-digital phase locked loop.
