Apparent Apex Revisited

The apparent apex method of measuring far field polar response at close proximity is revisited. The -perfect wedge- used in the original analysis is updated with a more sophisticated model, exhibiting realistic, frequency dependent polar response. With this model, the premise of the apex concept is challenged, and questions about apex determination and frequency dependence are addressed. Several interesting results are obtained. Revised test methods and guidelines are presented.
