A 24-Bit VLSI Digital Signal Processor for Portable Audio Applications

Document Thumbnail

Digital audio signal processing is a computationally intensive technology which requires both high computational power and wide signal dynamic range. These requirements are generally associated with high power consumption which makes using DSP in battery operated equipment difficult. This paper presents a new 24-bit DSP chip capable of low voltage operation and low power consumption that brings the required computational speed and signal dynamic range to battery-operated portable audio applications.
