Some New Acoustical Constructions in Studios for Recording and Postproduction

Document Thumbnail

For studios, the users' acoustical requirements and expectations must be fulfilled. This applies both for the microphones in recording studios and the listening position in control rooms. In past years many reports have appeared about requirements and applications in German studio buildings. This report describes some small talk studios and post production rooms, including their interior design. Some information is given on light dividing walls, windows and doors and room acoustical installations for the sound studios of WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk) in Dusseldorf and the post production rooms of SONY classical in Hamburg. Measurements and first experiences will be considered.
