Discrete tone (stepped sine) measurements are commonly performed on electroacoustic transducers. An algorithm is presented for optimizing both the speed and accuracy of these tests. This algorithm also suppresses spurious and steady-state broadband background noise. Examples of linear and non-linear response measurements are shown for different transducers.
