The nonlinear distortions of woofers in their fundamental resonance region are caused mostly by non-linear stiffness of suspensions and by unhomogeneity of magnetic field in the gap. First of these causes is well mathematically described by Duffing's equation; for the second, there is no such a convenient description. The purpose of this paper is to compute the non-linear distortions if both the causes appear simultaneously. The parameters characterising the nonlinearity of the loudspeakers are introduced and the influence of these parameters on the harmonic distortions is given. This gives convenient formulas for loudspeaker design. The method of measurement of the nonlinear parameters is given too.
