Training of Tonmeisters and Audio Engineers

Document Thumbnail

The very fast rate of new technology developments and the impact of video makes it increasingly difficult for many Tonmeisters and Audio Engineers to keep pace with the novel concepts, the unprecedented possibilities and the creative limitations which are brought about by the new hardware. Under these circumstances there is an urgent need to revise the educational ways of teaching and learning.: A new approach is presented and exemplified by a relatively low cost training/learning interac configuration, which can not only simulate the working conditions but actually includes the real operative equipment (consoles, digital audio recorders, synchronizers and so on).: This drastically reduces the tie necessary to learn (on the job) as well as improving the teacher/student or Tonmeister/apprentice ratio as appropriate.
