A known acoustic model of an open pipe filled with a fibrous tangle is combined with an electromechanical model of a driver to form a model of a complete transmission-line woofer system. The capabilities of this model are explored by comparison with measured data, and reasons for its limitations given. Applications within these limitations are suggested and current work is described.
