This paper describes the measurement of the distribution in real time of jitters occurring in CD players To obtain the jitter distribution, it is necessary to measure and then sort the run-length of each unit. The method discussed converts this run-length time into a voltage value. While the measurement is taking place, the converted voltage value is digitized and assigned to an address in RAM, thereby obtaining a measurement of jitter distribution in real time.
