Starting from the room acoustical requirements of concert halls, theaters, multipurpose halls, etc., the acoustic factors influencing an adapted acoustic layout are enumerated. Therefrom the corresponding acoustic soundfield structures at the listener's place are derived. By means of computer simulation methods, the corresponding parameters of sound reinforcement systems are arranged in such a way that an area-covering sound irradiation is made possible through the DSS system with maintenance of the correct location of the sound event and observance of the chosen parameters. The advance calculation of quality and system parameters of the DSS method are thus contemplated in detail.
