Measuring Equipment for the Estimation of -Pop- Sensitivity of Microphones

Document Thumbnail

For measurement purposes pop generation by real human speech is far too little reproducible. Therefore standard test equipment and measuring methods had to be developed. The test equipment (a dynamic loudspeaker with a well defined jet-hole mounted in a plate) generates an air flow similar to human plosives in a reproducible manner. The response of the microphone under test is digitized and stored on a PC-disk for further evaluation.
