Up to now the quality of Digital-Signal-Processing-Units, A-to-D and D-to-A converters has been measured almost only by analog measuring methods. If no A-to-D converter is used, which would affect the test results, the measurement of D-to-A converters although would require a digital signal source with corresponding interfaces. In the same way for testing A-to-D converters it is necessary to do all the measurement in the digital domain. For Testing all-digital Signal-Processing-Units like digital mixers a digital signal source in combination with a digital measurement-system should be used To cover all these cases a digital Sine-Wave-Generator as well as a measurement-system, working in the digital domain is described.
