A Computer Simulation of Transient States in Concert Halls

Document Thumbnail

The initial transient effect has been found as a sort of unsteady state of rising sound in an enclosure. Results of some more precise experiments suggest that such effect may be an additional signigicant factor of acoustic quality of concert halls, studios etc. In order to learn much more detailed factors a method of computer simulation of the transient state has been designed as an useful tool for further investigations. The paper describes a structure of the computer program as well as some results obtained by simulation in relation to some other examples recorded under real conditions.
