To measure the parameters, the loudspeaker driver is excited by a low-pass filtered step or square-wave voltage input. From recordings of the voltage and the corresponding current and coil velocity by a micro computer, a linear discrete time model of the loudspeaker is determined, using the prediction error system identification method. Application of the described method on a number of loudspeakers indicate that it is both fast and accurate.
