Audio digital technics associated with computer processing are expanding: computer music, disk storage, integrated digital audio workstation, etc. Beyond the main entertainment industry applications (film, video, record, television and radio broadcasting, PA diffusion, etc), research and development in computer audio applies to 3D audio simulation mainly for architectural acoustics, sound design, audio ergonomics, spatialized sound diffusion, music, etc. The Audiosphere (T.M.) system is an experimental audio simulator developed by Espaces Nouveaux, a French advanced Audio Research Center. Audiosphere simulation research programs follow three main directions: perception, representation and simulation of acoustical surroundings.
