Noise-Dependent Sound Reproduction in a Car: Application of a Digital Audio Signal Processor

Document Thumbnail

A noise-dependent sound reproduction circuit consists of two parts: a noise sensor and a volume- or compression-control circuit. Several possible sensors are discussed. A vibration sensor appears to be the best choice for in-ear application. The noise-dependent volume and compression circuits have been implemented in a digital signal processor. The reproduction of speech and music is significantly improved by using the circuits in a car.
