LSI IC System for DAT (Digital Audio Tape Recorder)

Document Thumbnail

DAT is expected to be a next-generation audio product. In DAT, high performance, high reliability, and high function are required. To meet this requirement, we have developed a high-precision A/D converter, high reliable error correction circuits, and a high-speed search servo system. In the A/D converter, triple current integration method has been employed. For highly reliable error correction, an adaptive decoding algorithm using the result of C1 decoding has been developed. With this decoding algorithm, a sufficient quality can be obtained even in the case of burst error. High-speed search servo system has also been developed. Music search operation at a speed of more than 100 times as high as that of normal playing modes has been realized. In addition, six custom LSIs and ICs including above circuits for DAT have been developed.
