Hardware Design of a Digital Mixer for Musical Applications

Document Thumbnail

In recent years, hardware systems with very high computational rates, such as the AudioFrame Digital Mixer Module presented here, have become more affordable. Not only is the system capable of multichannel equalization and mixing, but it is powerful enough to process signals in musical synthesis applications. The flexibility of a Digital Signal Processing chip (DSP) and the high performance of dedicated hardware, give it the ability to process 16 channels of sound data and deal with rapid changes in console controls simultaneously.
