Time-Domain Measurements Simplified

Document Thumbnail

A new measurement device consists of an impulse generator and a receiver-processor. They allow the amplitude vs. time characteristics of a loudspeaker-room combination, such as source misalignment, early reflections, and reverberation, to be displayed in an ordinary oscilloscope. Additionally, any time segment of this display, such as the direct sound only, may be selected and analyzed, by fairly conventional means, for amplitude vs. frequency characteristics.
