Fast numerical algorithm for computing edge diffractions from an arbitrarily shaped planar baffle with a round piston source is presented. The method is based on reducing the computation of near-field sound pressure in the plane of the piston to integration over only one variable. This method is used in a program for interactive computer-aided design of multi-way, multiple-driver loudspeaker systems in enclosures consisting of planar, polygonal non-absorbent surfaces. The program computers free-field amplitude and phase response and polar and energy responses of the loudspeaker.
