Control and Supervision of Switching Centres and Broadcasting Networks

Document Thumbnail

During the design of a Switching Centre or a Broadcasting Network, broadcasters are faced with the heterogeneity of the control procedures for various pieces of equipment. DIGITEC offers a flexible and secured multi-user control architecture which replies to all control, supervision, and remote operation needs. This control system has a local area network orientated architecture (TdF license) and supports 32 connections for the different equipment or workstations via universal interfaces. It is also possible to connect together 256 local area network by means of a private or public X25 type packet switching network. The application protocol enables equipment control, their status reading, operating mode changes, sharing of resources, and supervision of their evolution and their possible breakdown. The equipment we can connect today to the local area network is, among others, switching matrices, transmitters, modem, measurement equipment, etc. Operating stations can go from specific control panels to touchscreen type PC or Unix graphic workstations.
