A new digital audio editor for controlling one or two players and one recorder is presented. It is based on the VME-bus, a Motorola 68000 microprocessor, and a large solid-state memory. Time critical signals are processed by TMS320-10 DSP's, e.g. a digital fir filter with 1024 taps for stereo cueing and a pattern recognition unit to synchronize the machines at one sample resolution.
