Ability to accurately predict expected levels of speech intelligibility is a primary concern regarding acoustic design. Various techniques established for assessing speech intelligibility will be compared with respect to accuracy and correlation with measured results. Capability of such techniques to accurately determine early reflection and reverberation impact on speech intelligibility will likewise be discussed. Use of these analysis procedures and their respective limitations will be reviewed with an emphasis on practical acoustic and sound system design applications.
