Musicians agree upon the desirability of appropriate reverberation wherever music is performed. Ideally, different kinds of music benefit most from different kinds of reverberation. Synthetic reverberation is the simplest and most flexible means of making this possible. Various aspects of musical requirements are discussed. Some of the ways in which these can be met by synthetic reverberation are discussed.
