Audio systems, particularly those for speech use, are often in quasi-reverberent and quasi-diffuse spaces. System equalization in such spaces is complicated by variation of Levels as a function of location as well as frequency. Envelope Method equalization is presented as a means of equalization for entire general listening areas in such spaces for closest average fit to equalization criterion shape and minimum deviation from criterion at all frequency bands.
