Noise reduction systems abound these days, but all are expensive, patented, or hard to build. I will describe a compandor for noise reduction which can easily be built by anyone with readily available IC's at low cost. The system is suitable for use with tape recorders, bucket brigade delay lines, digital audio delay lines, and transmission systems.
