The paper discusses the design of a multi source digital delayed sound reinforcement system to provide acceptable intelligibility of speech and choral music in a Cathedral with a 7 - 8 second reverberation time. The design parameters included maximum variation of +1 dB SPL and near perfect precedence at any listening position in the Cathedral, without the benefit of any acoustical treatment.
