Development criteria and benefits of a quartz controlled system operating in Class AD are discussed with practical results from 150 W per channel units. These show it is possible to meet very stringent linearity, TID, and wide open loop power bandwidth requirements while maintaining 100 dB switching ripple rejection at the load terminals. Subjective performance is also carefully considered.
