Time-domain operations to produce pitch-changing, for time compression and expansion of speech, are briefly reviewed. Two AmBiChron models embodying these principles are described. One of these is a bare-bones design, intended for quantity use by persons who listen to talking books. The other is research oriented, and has a number of special features.
