Design of 48mm Beryllium Diaphragm Compression Driver

Document Thumbnail

The theoretical design principles and practical design of a compression driver using annular slits, and a 0.13 gram beryllium diaphragm are discussed. Since the dome resonance frequency is in excess of 23 Khz, the power response of the transducer follows closely that predicted by Dr. Wente to and beyond 20 Khz. Comparisons between measured and theoretical data show excellent agreement. A divided network loudspeaker system using this transducer is also discussed.
