A Novel Precision Testing Technique for Intensive Care Instrumentation

Document Thumbnail

This paper describes a novel approach in which precision test equipment is used to predict failures in defibrillators and ECG monitors. In addition to measuring ECG amplitude and rate accuracy, this test equipment can also evaluate the ECG monitor's ability to distinguish between the patient's R wave and a pacemaker pulse.
