Acoustical characteristics of an axisymmetric horn are calculated by applying the finite element method to the acoustic cavity of a horn mounted in a rigid infinite baffle. Acoustic radiation to the half infinite space is treated analytically in terms of the velocity potential.Experimental validity of the calculated characteristics is given for a horn loudspeaker in far-field sound pressure responses.
