Heat Pipe Cooling Enables Loudspeaker to Handle Higher Power

Document Thumbnail

In examining recent Hi-Fi program sources, dynamic range, and the sources themselves, all are rapidly improving in quality. This tendency is a result of the technological revolution, as represented by PCM recording, and for electronic musical instruments, etc. As a response to such trends in program sources, the following deals with the effective use of heat pipe cooling as a method of improving limited power handling due to Joule's heat inevitably present in dynamic speakers, in particular, mini-speaker systems. By employing this heat pipe cooling method, a cooling effect proportional to the power input is obtained. The handling capacity as experimentally observed becomes approximately twice as effective.
