Comparison of Performances between IPC Code and RSC Code when Applied to PCM Tape Recorder

Document Thumbnail

A comparison will be presented of the performance of the IPC code and the RSC code when applied to a PCM multi-track tape recording system. The RSC code is superior to the IPC code in the sense that the compensated sounds on musical information obtained by using the RSC code occur 1/400 as frequently as those obtained by using IPC code, assuming the average bit error rate on tape to be 10-4, and the average burst length 100 bits.
