Correlation and Virtual Sound Sources

Document Thumbnail

It has been suggested that discrete sound sound sources like musicians can emit correlated signals when they are playing in perfect unison. Experiments will prove that this is never the case, even when a unique performer realizes a "playback unison." As a result, virtual sound sources cannot be obtained when reproducing such uncorrelated signals.
