Amphitorium Sound Reinforcement-From Theory to Realization

The room has 7000 seats in semi-circular rows, with a curved rear wall. Principal microphones are at the focal point. The sound system is called upon to control room acoustics, especially low frequencies. It incorporates 105 microphones, four tons of speakers and baffles, and utilizes 3000 watts of audio power. Discussion covers theory, design engineering, and practical installation of the system answering the architectural challenge.
