Practically all pickups for string instruments are made minute in size, so that they may be mounted on or in the string bridge structure. A ceramic inertial wide-range pickup is described to be mounted at any point of the instrument, so that its response may be maximized with the area of optimum acoustic response of the instrument body vibration itself. An external mass may be added by the user to the inertial pick-up assembly to boost its bass response without high-frequency deterioration. Demonstrations will be made.
