A system for postproduction signal processing controlled by a digital computer (with human override) is presented. Key control parameters of an analog signal channel are identified and the requirements for digitizing each parameter specified. Sample and control rates, binary control and analog product signal synchronization and the implications of computer processing digitized versus analog audio signals are discussed.
