We have had sound reinforcement systems since the invention of the microphone. Oddly enough, most of these systems were designed back in the 1930's and they filled all needs until the late 1960's! Along came rock 'n roll and with it came a need for specially designed, high level portable sound systems. This paper will describe a very novel but practical design approach for touring sound systems.
