Ergonomic Aspects of Assisted Mixdown Systems

Document Thumbnail

Recent months have seen the announcement, or demonstration of a variety of mixdown aid systems, variously described as "Third Generation" or "Computer Controlled" systems. Each system has its own peculiarities and imposes specific disciplines on the operator, some but not all of which are inherent in the basic concept of assisted mixdown. This paper analyzes the features necessary to a mixdown aid of this type, and isolates those disciplines inherent in the concept. At the same time, the features of an aid system designed to minimize the constraints forced upon an operator are described.
