A Stereo Program Phase Checker

Document Thumbnail

Stereo programs which are derived from multiple-track studio masters normally contain left, right and various L+R combinations to create -center- channel information. Should the phase of one stereo channel become reversed, the reproduced center information loses its spatial relationship or, in the case of monophonic reproduction, may disappear entirely. This paper presents details of an easily constructed go/no-go device for checking phase of stereo program material.
