Superior quality sound reproduction depends on the degree of match between amplifier and loudspeaker. Certain problems of amplifier design and their effect on transfer of maximum sinewave power to a loudspeaker load are discussed. It is hoped that this effort might assist loudspeaker designers in improving future designs by allowing for inherent limitations of amplifier capabilities.
